This is a stunning, low pile, antique Persian rug from Tabriz, woven in the early 20th Century with a rare and extraordinary ground color. The rug shows off various shades of natural dyes, illustrating the different batches of dye used. The weave of this rug is super fine and the wool is superior, with sheen and it is soft to the touch.
The area of Tabriz is known for rugs with skillful artisans and a really tight weave. These rugs are well respected and have much prestige amongst collectors and buyers.
This Tabriz is in excellent condition, especially considering its age. It is low pile and has one tiny patch (please see pic). It is one of our rugs in the collection that stands out from the crowd and is nothing short of royal.
