This 1880s Serapi Persian rug is seriously something special. It’s got that perfect old world charm with a gorgeous patina that just makes it better with age. The grand poled medallion in ice blue stands out in the best way, surrounded by cool angular botanical motifs. The main field is a rich, dusty burnt sienna, packed with stylized florals in muted sage green, khaki, coral, cocoa brown, and softened yellow, so much color, but it all just works. The antique ivory corner spandrels add a nice decorative touch, keeping the botanical theme going.
The abrash is unreal, especially in the borders, where deep ocean blue fades into softer, ice blue tones. Floral motifs in powder pink, coral, olive tan, and different shades of blue add even more depth. Handwoven with vegetable dyed wool, the low pile and scattered wear give it that lived-in, well-loved look that makes antique rugs so special.
And the size? Massively palatial. It’s got this perfect mix of bold design and timeworn charm, making it feel both grand and inviting. This rug has serious soul, aged to perfection, full of character, and ready to be the star of any space it resides in.
Low pile. Scattered wear. Handwoven with vegetable dyed wool.
