Made of vegetable dyed wool and non-dyed camel hair, this antique Persian runner definitely captures attention. From circa 1920, it comes from Serab, a small village nestled in the Sabalan mountain range in northwestern Iran, Serab is home to a host of skilled tribal weavers who crafted artful, geometric rugs.
This tribal runner was woven undoubtedly with the wool of weaver’s own camel and sheep. This runner is heavy duty, has amazing and vibrant medallions running down the field and is loaded with superior old world wool. It has one tiny area on the corner that was professionally rewoven/restored.
This superb and durable Persian will play up a space with a great deal of art and history.
Woven circa 1900 with vegetable dyed wool and non-dyed camel hair.
