A genuine piece of history underfoot, this antique tribal Persian runner from the 1920s is a handwoven work of floor art. Made from vegetable dyed wool, its soft texture, fluffy wool and weighted feel give it a presence that speaks of quality craftsmanship. A series of six-poled medallions march up the center against a dark brown-espresso ground, each boasting its own unique color combination and bold graphic design, while tribal motifs dance around them.
The border bands play wonderfully together, with one featuring an ice blue ground adorned with diamond motifs, echoed by complementary bands that frame the composition. Subtle abrash adds depth, especially within the ice blue, giving the rug a little bit of one-of-a-kind magic. A well-preserved piece in nice condition, this runner is a beautiful and functional piece that will enhance any space.
