Here’s a late 19th Century to early 20th Century antique Ferahan Sarouk from Persia. This little scatter rug features a prominent diamond medallion on navy blue ground with Mahi design. It has rust-y corner spandrels and features decorative boteh in a rich, aqua blue and and an ivory border with floral art.
This small gem took many more hours to weave than others due to its high knot count per square inch, making it a finer Oriental rug that a woman with very skilled hands produced. This scatter rug has a sturdy handle, is low pile and was woven with all natural, vegetable dyed wool. Will ship with a pad to keep it nice and secure.
