This is a 1920s Turkmen / Turkoman rug with the classic design and characteristics these famous old rugs are known for. It was hand knotted by the nomadic tribe almost entirely with locally obtained materials, wool from the herds and vegetable dyes, or other natural dyes from the land. This particular piece has a saturated color story and a very tight weave; we're talking a high density knot count per imch...it's quite fine. It was woven with wool, on a wool foundation.
Low pile and in condition, parallel to time and history.
We do recommend a rug pad and can add it to
