This elegant antique Rococo-style French tapestry with silk was inspired by the painting entitled, "Charms of Country Life" (1787) by French painter, Francois Boucher. In true Rococo fashion, this beauty illustrates an asymmetrical ornamental composition depicting the romantic seduction of the innocent, further symbolized by the lambs. Soft pastel colors in blush pink, light blue, banana yellow, sage green, cloud gray, and ivory transports the viewer to the late 18th century French countryside.
There is exquisite detailing in the foliage, animals, and the expressive faces of this wonderful tapestry. Peonies and smaller flower blooms encompass this very charming scene in a decorative border. This beautiful tapestry was power-loomed, circa 1900, and is in splendid condition to elevate any space in need of a sense of decadence.
Original top and bottom hanging rods will be shipped along with Tapestry. The bottom rod is hidden within the fold of the tapestry and anchors it for wall hanging placement. Both can be removed or replaced, if desired.
