From the turn of the 20th Century, this Yomut rug was woven by the Turkoman nomads and it sits on a burnt sienna ground. With the classical motifs throughout, this super soft and very finely woven wool rug has a beautiful geometric arrangement with rich, earthy tones. It is a prayer rug and most likely, this was carried by its owner on the daily. Tribal rugs from the past are incredible pieces of history, and these pieces represent one of the earliest and most enduring kinds of human expression that we can cherish.
Condition: Low wool pile on a soft wool foundation. Please see pics for character and condition. Vegetable dyed wool.
It'll come with a custom cut rug pad on the house to keep it wiggle free.
