Gorgeous antique 1900s worn Persian Heriz rug that will never go out of style. The all over tribal pattern with large scale medallions makes this rug stand out from the crowd, where many Heriz rugs have only the one central medallion. This art form all over makes it easier to style and has an amazing shabby chic look with loads of character earned through time.
Hailing from NW Persia, surrounded by rugged mountains, this beauty was handwoven with wool dyed from all natural materials, such as vegetables, plants, and flowers. Beautiful color story that includes cherry red, French blue, and ivory against a brick red ground that feels romantic. The main border is vibrant with colors and a botanical themed design that complements the overall look of this fabulous rug and adds a lovely finishing touch with its midnight blue ground.
Although very worn in appearance, it is fully intact. This Persian Heriz rug has a low pile and enough can’t be said about the substantial character that speaks to its age. A great size considering that most come in 8x11ish and 9x12ish; a true value for its size, age, and style of Persian rug.
