Steal-deal!
This vegetable dyed wool Turkish rug was hand knotted circa 1880. The art is very evident and definitely feels BOHO! You can see the geometric design on the rug and the amazing batch dye changes. Another amazing feature is that while it is hand knotted with pile on the face of the rug, the top and bottom border is a flat weave; two different type of weavings in one historic rug! It is said that men are the ones who dyed the wool and the women were the weavers on the loom. This darling little piece of history that is a highly decorative item. It can also be used as a wall hanging.
It is soft, lustrous and lovely rug. It is East Anatolian and this is the area from which valuable rugs were first started to be exported to Europe. Antique Turkish rugs are quite famous and favored, and the artistic design, look, color, quality and texture is always on point. This late 19th century rug is super soft, feels more like a baby blanket and folds like a handkerchief and is in excellent condition for its age.
This wool rug sits on a soft wool foundation. We recommend a rug pad with this beauty. Here is the link if you want to click to purchase a pad with this baby!: https://www.shopblueparakeetrugs.com/collections/rug-pads/products/small-rug-pad
