Late 19th Century Caucasian runner.
This old Russian woven by women in the Caucasus mountains is perfectly love worn. It has exquisite paisleys in a myriad of colors throughout the field and just exudes beauty and joy. If you look closely, you will see a few elements of a female woven in. This may represent the weaver herself. See pics.
The naturally dyed wool has softened through time and the colors are subtle and lovely. The runner feels soft to the touch. It comes from the Caucasus mountains, north of Persia. These old rugs are considered old Russians. We love them and collect many.
