On hold for Lily/Carpenter- This is an all over pattern Kurdish rug from the early 1900s. It is on a deep indigo blue backdrop. It is a tribal rug that was hand knotted by Kurdish weavers, a very small minority in areas that are north.
Kurdish rugs are also known to be stout and solid! You can definitely feel the lamb's wool on this fine rug. The age and wear shows itäó»s great age with loads of cool character. This rug was longer and at some point in it's life, it was professionally reduced (shortened) and has a small patch. Please see pics. It is in good condition and ready for a home with tons of life left in it to go.
