This exquisite and fine quality Persian is at the connoisseur level. It is known as a Mission Malayer (from the region of MISHIN) and it sits on a deep midnight blue ground with a remarkable and satisfying color story going on.
The rare and rich saffron spandrels frame this Persian so beautifully and you'll see vase and blossoming flowers on each end in the field. The combination of its early period weaving from the late 19th Century and its one-of-a-kind design makes this a remarkably rare and desirable rug. In the borders, we see geometric turtle elements woven on a rust backdrop and the edge guard features running water, indicating the importance of water in the life of mankind.
The natural dyes are vibrant and saturated, showing off great luster and its superior old world wool. Btw, this beauty can also be used as wall decor as a gorgeous backdrop!
Low pile and in excellent condition for its. age.
