From the hands of a skilled weaver is this tightly woven Ferahan Persian, from the early 1900s, quite the eye-catcher with exquisite and crispy art. The main field has an all-over, small-scale botanical pattern that is intricately detailed against a dark navy blue ground with spandrels in a warm tone that provide a great contrast. The elaborate border band design includes the Herati or fish design and other decorative motifs that complement the overall vibe of this fantastic rug.
Handwoven with vegetable dyed wool, the dyes have aged gracefully and now have a wonderful patina, creating a more subdued feel. Although this gem has been beautifully love worn and has sustained some scars from the long life it has already lived, it is tightly woven and still ready for duty.
