5x8 Antique Persian Rug #3625

Regular price $1,675.00

This 1920s Persian rug is a rich, soulful piece with a madder red wool ground and a tightly spaced allover boteh (paisley) design. Each boteh — a symbol of fertility, strength, and eternal life — is outlined with contrast, lending definition and rhythm to the pattern. The botehs are filled with tiny motifs, adding detail and depth that reward close inspection.

A standout feature of this piece is the use of dijon gold — pops of that earthy, golden hue appear throughout, especially in the edge guard borders, which create a beautiful visual frame. The rug’s main border, in ivory, contrasts the deep red field and features stylized floral and vine scroll motifs. Multiple minor border bands, in navy and wine tones, layer beautifully for a balanced, traditional composition.

The rug shows wear congruent to age, particularly in high-touch areas, but retains strength and soul. Its handle is soft, the wool is vegetable dyed, and its color palette offers a blend of grounded warmth and timeless geometry.

At nearly 5x8, it’s an ideal room-size antique with great scale and a presence that brings instant heritage to a space.

Low pile, worn, handwoven with vegetable dyed wool.
