Hailing from the south of Persia, this gorgeous antique 1920s Persian Kerman rug is full of beauty, charm, and romance. Known for their floral art, this magnificent Kerman rug has an ornate central medallion in French blue with an allover pattern of stunning floral bouquets against an ivory ground. The main border continues the lovely floral theme with an array of different flower blooms against a midnight blue ground that frames this rug wonderfully. These flowers are forever!
This beauty is in mint condition and has a luxurious and super silky mink feel to it. It also has a presence that shines as the lanolin rich wool has sheen and is so soft to the touch. It was finely woven with tight knotting and took multiple female weavers and some years to complete. The wool used was dyed with natural resources, such as flowers, plants, and vegetables, providing a fabulous color story that is very attractive. This fantastic rug will bestow a sophisticated, opulent, and feminine energy that will enhance any space it resides in. Depending on lighting and how the rug is oriented, you’ll sense cooler and warmer tones of the dyes on this fabulous Persian.
In excellent condition. From the 1920s, woven with vegetable dyed wool.
