This fabulous antique Persian Heriz rug from the 1910s has aged beautifully, with a softened palette that holds immense character. The mix of blush pink and various blue hues creates a striking contrast, especially against the dark blue ground. The all over design is filled with large scale motifs that flow in a structured yet artistic way, with smaller botanical-inspired elements woven in between. The border band features bold floral motifs with decorative serrated leaves, all set against a warm red background that adds richness to the piece.
It’s made from handwoven, vegetable dyed wool, and over the years, it has developed some scattered wear that only adds to its charm. We recently mended a more worn area toward one end of the field, ensuring it remains sturdy and ready for its next home. Please see pics for full character and condition.
