Earthy and subdued terra cotta color ways with large scale medallions in the field, this ancient and skinny runner has a lot of love to give. It is from circa 1880 and has a great deal of character with its aged palette, plus it is skinny at 2'8 in width, a rare find in old rugs.
The faded oatmeal/wheat ground color is an exquisite backdrop and is woven with non-dyed and real camel wool. This particular Persian is from Bidjar, which is known for their extremely durable and weighted wool, so although this Persian runner is worn, it has a great deal of love and life to give as Bidjar rugs, also coined as the "Iron Rugs of Persia" are pieces that last for generations.
